If you’ve seen Netflix’s reality bake-off show Nailed It!, then the first thing you’ll know is that you should always measure your ingredients. The second thing? Host Nicole Byer is laugh-out-loud funny. But although she keeps things relatively PG with the contestants, her usual brand of comedy is decidedly more raunchy.
We recently chatted with the host and Smirnoff partner about her career, and gleaned some fascinating (and NSFW) behind-the-scenes insight into her job.
“A lot of kids like Nailed It! but my comedy is not child-friendly—please don’t bring your kids to my show!” Byer joked. (But seriously, you probably shouldn’t bring children to her live shows.)
And when we asked Byer if it was challenging to have to tone down her usual style of comedy for the hit Netflix show, she told us that it wasn’t a problem since they edit a lot out. “We shoot each episode for ten hours—so it’s nine and a half hours of me screaming terrible things and they cut it out.”
