The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Was an ‘Outstanding’ Experience, According to a Royal Cousin

Royal admirers far and wide came together to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, which marked the monarch’s 70-year reign on the British throne. The extravagant event was certainly one to remember, from the stunning fashion looks to the funny meme-worthy moments. (Looking at you, Prince Louis). The entire celebration seemed to be an enjoyable one for the royal family—even if some moments weren’t captured on camera.

During a recent episode of The Good, The Bad and The Rugby podcast, host Mike Tindall (who married the queen’s granddaughter, Zara Tindall) talked about attending Jubilee weekend. Mike told his co-host, Alex Payne, that he had an “outstanding” experience. “It was just great to be a part of,” he said, according to Hello! magazine.

In addition, Mike shared that some royal cousins had a secret lunch on the first day of the Jubilee celebrations. He said, “That was a highlight!” If you recall, on the first day of festivities, Kate Middleton, Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte, Prince George and Camilla Parker Bowles rode in a horse-drawn carriage during the Trooping the Colour parade.

And that’s when we saw some iconic royal rewears, with the Duchess of Cambridge rocking a white blazer dress designed by Alexander McQueen and earrings that were previously worn by the late Princess Diana. Bowles also revisited her royal closet, donning a sky blue striped dress designed by Bruce Oldfield and a brimmed hat crafted by Philip Treacy. If that weren’t enough, we witnessed Prince Louis sport the same mini sailor suit once worn by his father, Prince William, three decades ago.

Day one of the queen’s Jubilee was surely an eventful one for the royals, indeed.
