Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Will Use a Whole Different Set of Titles on Their Summer Vacation

We may know them as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle head to Balmoral to spend summer vacation with Queen Elizabeth, they’ll be using a very different set of titles.

You see, upon their 2018 marriage, the new parents also received official titles to use while visiting Scotland. So, when they’re exploring the pastoral hills of Balmoral Castle in Abersheendire, Scotland with baby Archie, they’ll be referred to as the Earl and Countess of Dumbarton. Pretty fancy, huh?

According to British tabloid The Sun, the couple received their rare and storied titles despite never having visited Dumbarton…at least not yet. Interestingly, Harry is only the third earl of the small town and the title hadn’t been used in connection to Dumbarton in 300 years before the queen gifted it to him.

The Daily Record also reported that Markle and Prince Harry have been invited to visit by the Lord Lieutenant, Michael Gregory OBE. It’s not yet clear whether they’ll make the trek out to Dumbarton while spending quality time with the rest of the royal family at Balmoral.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip visit their country house at Balmoral each summer and invite the rest of the royal family to visit them. While it’s not confirmed that Prince Harry, Markle and Archie will join, it’s expected they’ll pop in for a spell.
