Meghan Markle Wore $6 Borrowed Earrings with a $13,500 Valentino Dress to Misha Nonoo’s Wedding

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended Misha Nonoo’s star-studded wedding in Rome this past weekend. So, what does a 38-year-old duchess wear to black tie nuptials? Turns out she went the route of something borrowed and something tulle.

Markle arrived at the designer’s lavish Villa Aurelia wedding wearing a $13,500 embellished Valentino evening gown and—wait for it—$6 vintage earrings borrowed from a friend.

Clear photos from the event have yet to emerge, but in the above set you can easily discern Markle’s gold and diamond feather earrings. The duchess opted to wear her hair up in a sleek bun with loose face-framing tendrils to better highlight her earrings, which were reportedly found by a friend at a vintage stall at London’s Portobello Market four years ago. Markle had apparently been a fan of the baubles for years and finally found the perfect dress to borrow them for.

Her frock wasn’t as much of a bargain, however. The new mom donned a sheer Valentino embellished tulle evening dress with sequins, a deep V-neck, a cinched waist, subtle balloon sleeves and a silk slip underneath.

Prince Harry attended Nonoo’s nuptials to American energy entrepreneur Michael Hess wearing a classic black tuxedo. He and Markle left baby Archie at home for their Roman getaway but they did bring him along on their tour to South Africa, which kicked off this week.

Markle and Nonoo have been friends for years (since around 2015), and Markle even wore one of her designs the first time she stepped out with Prince Harry at the 2017 Invictus Games. Most recently, the friends collaborated on Markle’s Smart Set fashion capsule collection for Smart Works.

That said, it’s no wonder the Duchess of Sussex went with such a stunning outfit for the occasion.
