It’s wedding season for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex touched down in Rome today (via a commercial flight) to celebrate the nuptials of Markle’s close friend, designer Misha Nonoo, and American energy entrepreneur Michael Hess.
The festivities come just a week before the couple is set to head out with 4-month-old baby Archie on their tour of South Africa. For the wedding, however, the duke and duchess opted to leave their little one at home for some new parent alone time.
Markle and Prince Harry aren’t the only royals expected to attend the wedding. The 35-year-old Duke of Sussex’s cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, also received invites. Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Karlie Kloss and her husband, Joshua Kushner, are on the guest list, too.
The 38-year-old Duchess of Sussex most recently stepped out with Nonoo to launch her Smart Works “Smart Set” fashion capsule collection last week. Markle sought out Nonoo, as well as Marks & Spencer, Jigsaw and John Lewis, to design a set of workwear to benefit her patronage Smart Works, which empowers women to succeed in the work force with career coaching and outfits for interviews. Spoiler alert: It was a massive success.
Nonoo and Markle have been close friends for years and many believe that she may have been the one to introduce her to Prince Harry. The designer was raised in London and was previously married to one of the Duke of Sussex’s close friends, Alexander Gilkes. Markle famously wore the Nonoo-designed Husband shirt the first time she and Prince Harry stepped out together, and Nonoo attended the duo’s royal wedding .
Now, it’s time for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to return the favor.
