Who Is Meghan Markle's Handsome New Communications Director Christian Jones?

On Friday, Meghan Markle was spotted out to lunch with her new deputy communications secretary, Christian Jones.

A dapper, Adam Levine doppelgänger, Jones was just hired by the palace as a senior-level staffer to the Fab Four. He’ll act as press director for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

But who is this handsome fella (shown in the IG slideshow above wearing the black peacoat, plaid scarf and black skinny jeans)? According to The Daily Mail, Jones graduated from Cardiff University in Wales in 2011. He worked for pro-Brexit member of Parliament David Davis as a speechwriter for a year, from October 2016 to September 2017. He then became press secretary for the secretary of state for the Department of Exiting the European Union. (That’s a mouthful of a title, don’t ya think?)

Prior to that, Jones worked indirectly with Queen Elizabeth in another capacity: as chief press officer to the chancellor of the exchequer, who is head of Her Majesty’s Treasury, according to his LinkedIn.

He may be replacing close-aide to the Sussexes Samantha Cohen, who reportedly helped coach Markle on how to be a duchess, as she will be retiring in May.

Needless to say, we’re excited for more sightings of the Duchess of Sussex’s head press guy (and hope he’s prepped and ready for sending us alllll the Baby Sussex pics, of course).
