When Will Mark Consuelos Replace Ryan Seacrest on ‘Live’? Here’s What We Know

Mark Consuelos just revealed when he’ll take over for Ryan Seacrest on Live with Kelly & Ryan, and it’s much sooner than expected.

Last night, the Riverdale star, 51, attended the 95th annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles alongside Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa. During an interview on ABC’s The Red Carpet Live: Countdown to Oscars 95, Consuelos confirmed that his first day as a Live co-host is in April.

“I start the show on April 17, which is a Monday,” Consuelos said, according to People magazine. “And I could not be more honored and excited.”

Seacrest also discussed his “bittersweet” departure and revealed that he’s excited for what’s to come. “We have such a great relationship and friendship and working relationship,” he said. “And Mark is going to take over, and he and I have the same kind of relationship, and it’s going to be an exciting last few weeks. I’m not done yet!”

Ripa jokingly added, “We keep saying nothing will really change between the three of us. It’s just Ryan will get to have his coffee later.”

Last month, Seacrest announced that he’s leaving Live with Kelly & Ryan after six successful seasons. “Working alongside Kelly over the past six years has been a dream job and one of the highlights of my career,” he said. “She has been an amazing partner, friend, and confidant, and although we will always be a part of each other’s lives, I will miss our mornings together.”

Shortly after, Consuelos confirmed that he’s replacing the American Idol personality to co-host the talk show alongside his wife. At the time, they didn’t mention a time frame for the switcheroo.

Let the countdown to April 17 begin.
