Maisie Williams is “really excited” for Game of Thrones to end. *Hearts break around the world*
But before you banish Arya Stark to the Citadel in your mind, hear the girl out. Her excitement is totally justified. In a recent interview with BBC’s Newsbeat, Williams discussed the eighth (and final) season of the hit HBO series and revealed she’s ready to take on new roles and opportunities when GoT comes to an end in 2019. She said, “I’m really excited for Game of Thrones to finish and there’s going to be time for me to do whatever I want.”
While the 20-year-old developed some serious dagger skills portraying the petite assassin, Williams is looking forward to taking on more challenging projects that represent herself as an actress. She continued, “It will be nice to pick roles that I want to do. I can show the world what sort of actress I want to be and shape my career a little bit.”
As for the roles she’s interested in assassinating tackling, let’s just say Netflix better get cracking on that whole indie-film endeavor. She added, “I’d love to do a British independent film; I’d love to make it and I’d love to be in it. There are a couple of directors that I’d love to work with—Dexter Fletcher being one. I’d like to just do some work here, for Britain.”
We suppose we all must move on from being a girl who has no name. You do you, Maisie.
