Laverne Cox Is Moved to Tears by Sheryl Lee Ralph During Live Golden Globes Interview

The Golden Globes are officially in full swing. And as much as we're enjoying the glamorous fashion looks and hairstyles, there's one particular red carpet moment that has us right in the feels.

Perhaps the biggest highlight so far was seeing the exchange between Abbott Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph and her close pal, Laverne Cox. Ralph kicked things off by discussing her dazzling Aliétte purple gown, which was actually selected by her daughter, Ivy Coco. She said, "[My daughter] has been on this whole awards trail with me from the beginning. And I said, 'You get my style Coco...you get me. You get the style. Let's do this.' And she's been winning—I've been on every best dressed list including the New York Times."

However, Ralph's daughter wasn't the only one who got a special shoutout.

During the interview, Cox showered Ralph with praises and gushed, "Diva, icon, legend, [she] deserves all of it. Don't give up before the miracle. If it's for you it will not miss you, what is it you say?"

The veteran actress responded, "As we say in Jamaica, 'What is feel cannot be unfeel,' meaning if it's yours, it will be yours and it will never, ever miss you. So don't you ever, ever give up on you."

Cox practically read our minds with her follow-up comment when she said, "We needed the sermon! I needed the sermon. Sherly Lee Ralph, the icon, is before us. Have the best time tonight. I love you."

But then, the exchange took an emotional turn when Ralph offered words of encouragement for Cox, who was moved to tears. Ralph said, "You know, I love you more. And happy to see you flourishing and never having given up on yourself exactly the way you are."

Always a pleasure to see two queens uplifting each other on live TV.
