Step aside, boys, pantsuits are trending on the red carpet and we're loving it more than Ina Garten loves custom chambray button-downs. (Aka, a lot.) The latest celeb to hop on the bandwagon is actress Laura Dern, and damn, did she nail it.
While attending the premiere of Big Little Lies season two, Dern opted for a classic white blazer and tailored black trousers from YSL, which, to be honest, sounds a bit plain (if not incredibly chic). But of course, we should never underestimate the powerful Renata Klein. A completely sheer black blouse, sexy lace bra and pair of barely-there strappy black heels were all Dern needed to take her ensemble from simple to stunning.
We still have a few days to go before season two of BLL begins on HBO, and while the cast has been pretty mum about what we can expect from the Monterey Five (and Perry's investigative mother), Dern did give us at least one hint as to how Renata's life will be different moving forward.
“I’m not supposed to give an answer to that question or any question about what anybody’s doing,” Dern told PureWow. “But I think it’s fair to say that [given] where we left off, it’s now a group of women who have found a tribe to connect to, which is a huge deal for Renata, needless to say.”
Maybe the presence of four new friends (or their overwhelming shared secret) will finally get Renata to chill out a bit. Only time will tell...
