World, Meet Kristen Bell’s Brand-New Bob

When you’re sitting in a styling chair, getting a couple of inches cut off your hair can feel like a life-altering shift (and not always in a good way). Allow Kristen Bell and her brand-new haircut to be a reminder that a subtle change can be a good thing.

The 39-year-old The Good Place star, who has been rocking a lob since 2017, took the plunge and officially entered bob territory over the weekend. The news came courtesy of her go-to hairstylist, Adir Abergel, who shared a moody Instagram pic of the Frozen star posing with her new ’do.

Abergel, who lists Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel as other noteworthy clients and gave Charlize Theron her bowl cut, captioned the snap, “90’s and blunt on @kristenanniebell with @rosettagetty vibes.”

Over the past several years, Bell has worn her lob in loose cool-girl waves, so this sleek look is definitely a departure from the norm. And even though it appears Abergel only cut about two inches off Bell’s blonde shoulder-grazing hair, it makes all the difference.

Although Bell was one of the first to hop on the haircut train, many other celebs have joined her. Courteney Cox, Sarah Hyland, Julia Roberts, Demi Lovato and more have all gone short after long-term relationships with flowing locks. Suffice it to say, the celebrity beloved chop has been the “it” haircut for a hot minute now.

Even so, it’s time to move over, lob. The straight bob is moving in.
