All of the Details for King Charles’s Coronation Weekend Have Been Set—Check Them Out Here

Mark your calendars, royally-obsessed fans! King Charles III is celebrating his coronation on the weekend of May 6, and the royal family just released the official schedule of events.

The date of His Royal Majesty's coronation was revealed back in October, with a statement that said, “Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6th May, 2023.” And now, we know a little more about all that will take place on that historic weekend.

A new post on the royal family account revealed that King Charles's crowning will include a massive concert, a volunteer event and even more.

“Communities across the UK will be encouraged to come together to celebrate the Coronation with events including Big Lunches, volunteering days and a concert in the grounds of Windsor Castle which will be open to a public ballot,” the caption read.

Saturday, May 6 will hold the Coronation Service, which will take place at Westminster Abbey and be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Then, the following day will feature a special concert courtesy of the BBC and Big Lunches across the U.K. Finally, Monday, May 8 will include the Big Help Out, an event uniting people with volunteer efforts across the Commonwealth.

When the date of King Charles's coronation was first announced, royal fans immediately noted the importance of the selection, because May 6th is also the birthday of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's eldest child, Archie. It also happens to be the wedding anniversary of Queen Consort Camilla's daughter, Laura, and the wedding anniversary of the late Princess Margaret.

Further details of the events taking place during the coronation weekend can be found on the royal family website here. While information, such as the performers at the coronation concert, has not been revealed yet, this will hopefully be unveiled in the near future.

It'll surely be a royal day to remember.
