Following the Easter Sunday service at St. George’s Chapel yesterday, King Charles accompanied his wife, Queen Camilla, on a surprise stroll outside of Windsor Castle to greet well-wishers. This was the king’s first public appearance since starting his cancer treatment earlier this year.

During the outing (per Hello! Magazine), the 75-year-old monarch personally met a devoted royal admirer who wished him well on his journey to recovery. “Happy Easter, Your Majesty. Never give in, keep going strong,” the person said, according to the report.

After thanking the well-wisher for their kind comment, His Majesty took a moment to admire his wife, who has been a big part of his recovery. Beaming over at his significant other, King Charles said with a smile, “I just obey my instructions.” Always sound marriage advice.

According to People, King Charles sat separately from the rest of his family members during the church service. Also, “following medical advice,” the monarch did not participate in the post-service events, from the reception to the private family lunch.

The king and queen were joined by Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Princess Anne, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.

A source close to the royal family recently revealed to People that the monarch has been “progressing well.” The unnamed insider also added, “He is positive, the doctors are optimistic.”

But this is not the only time we received a health update on the king. Days before the church service, Queen Camilla shared an important health update about her husband during her three-day trip to Northern Ireland. When greeted by a well-wisher, the royal, 76, said that the king is currently “doing very well.” She continued, “He was very disappointed he couldn't come.”

We missed you, King Charles.
