Kelly Ripa just confirmed that we’re not the only ones who associate This Is Us with ugly crying.
Susan Kelechi Watson (Beth Pearson) appeared on a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, where she discussed season five of the popular NBC series. At one point, Ripa interrupted the 39-year-old actress and revealed that she tries to refrain from talking about This Is Us in public because she breaks down in tears every time someone brings it up.
“Just saying the words This Is Us, evokes an emotional response,” Ripa said. “I have a hard time saying the words without feeling like I could cry just because there are so many past episodes that have touched me and everyone I know so deeply and so personally.”
Although Watson has been “sworn to secrecy” for spoilers, she shared some details about what’s to come in season five. “Usually, [series creator Dan Fogelman] gives us a whole arc of the season, and then we kind of get more specific updates as we go,” she said. “As for me right now, I’m caught up to where the audience is. So, sometimes we know the whole arc and then sometimes we get bits as we go. But usually, we know more than we let on.”
There, there, Ripa. We feel exactly the same way, especially when it comes to Crock-Pots.
