I’ll be honest, one of the first things I do in the morning as a PureWow entertainment editor is head to Instagram to see what my favorite television hosts, Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest, are up to. In fact, I’ve become so accustomed to the early morning behind-the-scenes posts that when I noticed it was 10:30 am and there had been no posts on the Live with Kelly and Ryan social media pages this morning, I was a bit (OK, very) confused.
My gut instinct was that the episode was canceled or prerecorded. Turns out, the producers of the morning show were just late to the game. However, when they did eventually post a backstage video, we noticed it wasn’t the type we usually get first thing in the morning.
Normally, the clips either consist of the 50-year-old TV personality and her 45-year-old co-host making their way from their dressing rooms to the Live stage or footage of the hosting duo taking their seats and introducing the episode to viewers.
Instead, the video featured an episode of “#KellysFashionFinder,” during which the All My Children alum explains her entire ensemble to social media followers. “This is a Ralph Lauren turtleneck which I am going to wear at all times now. And if you know a good summer weight turtleneck, let me know,” she said in the clip. “And this is a Christopher Kane skirt. I’ve got a bunch of these Christopher Kane pleated, glitzy skirts. I got them all on sale and they’re all fabulous.”
