We’ve often wondered who raised The Big Bang Theory’s quirky neurobiologist Amy Fowler (Mayim Bialik), and now we finally have our answer.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Kathy Bates (American Horror Story) and magician Teller (of Penn & Teller fame) are set to portray Amy’s parents, who come into town for her wedding to Sheldon (Jim Parsons), in the BBT season 11 finale.
Bates will replace Annie O’Donnell, who previously played Amy’s mother via Skype in season nine. Mama Fowler has been described as overbearing and protective. Papa Fowler, on the other hand, has yet to appear on the hit CBS comedy.
In addition to Bates and Teller, Mark Hamill (Star Wars) will appear in the finale in an unspecified role. He joins Jerry O’Connell (Sheldon’s older brother), Laurie Metcalf (Sheldon’s mom) and Missy Cooper (Sheldon’s twin sister) in the family affair.
