Kate Middleton and Prince William had a busy couple of weeks together, but Kate is doing things solo this week. Kensington Palace just posted a slo-mo video of her without the Prince of Wales—and she's showing off her new hobby. Check out the recap below.

The video starts with Princess Catherine greeting the staff, volunteers and patients at the Cancer Wellbeing and Information Centre at Colchester Hospital. Soon, there's a shot of her working on the garden before she's greeting fans outside. The caption reads, "Honoured to mark the planting of Catherine's Rose at the RHS Wellbeing Garden in Colchester. A gesture rooted in hope and care."

It continues, "Grateful to spend time with NHS staff and volunteers tending this space, and to see the rose incorporated into gardens supporting recovery and reflection across the UK."

The official Instagram account also posted shots of Kate in the garden, where royal fans praised her for rolling up her sleeves and planting her own roses, showering her with love and heart emojis. "I absolutely love that she's digging in the garden without gloves and that her bouncy curls have fallen flat and are frizzy by the end of the video. Not the typical stuffy prim and proper royal video. There's a beautiful human element to it," wrote one fan.

Assistant Editor of News & Entertainment Danielle Long recently reported that Kate made a surprise visit on July 2. The garden is designed as a peaceful retreat for patients, visitors and staff—including 'Catherine's Rose,' a variety named in honor of the royal. According to Long, 50 roses were delivered to the garden with 500 more will be distributed across the UK.

In May, she shared the news about 'Catherine's Rose,' sharing that greenery been a source of solace since revealing her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, "Over the past year, nature has been my sanctuary. The natural world's capacity to inspire us, to nurture us and to help us heal and grow is boundless and has been understood for generations."

In the same clip, you can see her digging through flowers with Prince Williams. It's nice to see Kate develop a green thumb these last couple of months.
