It seems Kate Middleton and Prince William's budding rugby rivalry lives on in their latest surprise appearances.

On September 6th, the pair made separate appearances during the Women's Rugby World Cup. While Prince William attended the Wales against Fiji match at Sandy Park stadium in Exeter, Kate was 100 miles away at the American Express stadium, supporting the rival team during the England versus Australia match in East Sussex.

See the photos down below.

Above, the Prince of Wales is shown greeting the Welsh rugby team in the their locker room with lots of handshakes and smiles. Prince William is even captured giving a player a consoling hug after they lost the match.

Meanwhile at American Express stadium, Princess Catherine was also snapped joining in on some team bonding with players. Below, the Princess of Wales joins the England rugby team for a giant group photo and some post-game celebrations.

The couple both wore tailored black suits for the matches, with Catherine showing off her freshly blonde tresses in a half up, half down style.

William and Kate's competitive streak for rugby is no secret. In fact, the pair have even shared their passion for rugby with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are even patrons for their respective teams. Prince William is a patron to the Welsh Rugby Union, while Princess Kate patrons for the Rugby Football Union. With Prince William's team losing their match and Princess Kate's team winning their's, I suspect the pair couldn't wait to hash out the details after yesterday's matches.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall at Kensington Palace right now.
