Things have not exactly been easy for the royal family lately. At the beginning of April, the royal patriarch, Prince Philip, passed away only a few months shy of his 100th birthday. Meanwhile, just a month prior, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle held a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they made some shocking claims about their experiences as royals.
While these events caused a supposed rift between brothers Prince William and Prince Harry, and the whole royal family has been under more scrutiny, it seems that Kate Middleton is the one holding everything together.
During an episode of 60 Minutes Australia, royal reporter Katie Nicholl of Vanity Fair shared that the Duchess of Cambridge has been trying to fill the spot left by Prince Philip. “I think Kate is the glue," she said. “In the same way that the Duke of Edinburgh was always the one who would help resolve family issues. He was the patriarch of the family. I see Kate stepping into that role. Trying to keep things together.”
