Like mother, like daughter

Seems like Kate Middleton and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, are even more alike than we thought.

Earlier this month, per Hello! Magazine!, the Princess of Wales, 41, attended the Royal Variety Performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall. While there, the mother of three chatted with Chinese pianist Lang Lang, who performed with a teenage musician named Lucky, who is blind and autistic.

When Princess Catherine inquired about his partner onstage, Lang revealed, “We were talking about how we found her in Leeds Train Station, and how everything happened magically and how I’m so happy to play with her.”

Then Catherine and Lang discussed Princess Charlotte’s own hidden talent: playing the piano. Yup, that’s right—the 8-year-old must have gotten this secret talent from her mama (who previously showed off her impressive piano skills during the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest finale).

Lang continued, “We talked about Charlotte. Her Royal Highness talked about Charlotte’s piano playing, I’m sure she’s good. Her Royal Highness said to me that she said to Princess Charlotte 'Hey, look, if you practice a lot you can be like him.’”

“So I’m happy to be helpful a little bit,” the pianist added. “It’s really funny, I was like, wow, I'm sure she will do well at the piano. I think she is practicing.”

Of course, this isn’t the only hidden talent Catherine shares with her daughter. Back in October, the Princess of Wales paid a visit to the Aberavon Leisure Centre in Port Talbot, Wales, where she talked to the young athletes who were participating in a gymnastics lesson.

While visiting the facility, Catherine revealed that she and her daughter can do “the splits,” which is a big part of every gymnast’s floor routine. “I was able to do it when I was little, but I’ll have to keep practicing now,” the royal told the kids, according to The Mirror. “My little girl [Charlotte] likes to do that, too.”
