All Jonathan Van Ness wanted for his birthday was a fun night out and a hot date. Well, he got both.
The 32-year-old Queer Eye star celebrated his big day yesterday with his idol, ice skating legend Michelle Kwan, on his arm while they attended the GLAAD Awards. Yep, his hero is now his bestie and both of them slayed the red carpet fashion game.
Van Ness kept it goddess chic with an icy blue Rick Owens silk caftan (we can’t). He paired the flowy dress with some gorgeous (and probably super comfy) cream Yves Saint Laurent platforms, Target socks and a silk pochette.
Kwan looked equally stunning in a silver sequin Isabel Marant sweatshirt/minidress and chrome Christian Louboutin pointed-toe heels. The best part? Her “dress” was actually a sweatshirt that belongs to Van Ness. Kwan revealed the very JVN detail on Instagram.
“Flashback to yesterday, when all I can hear is @jvn telling me, ‘You gotta go with sparkles, henny. It’s the @glaad awards!’” Kwan joked.
She went on to explain the genesis of her gorge sparkling dress, writing, “And oh yeah, it was his birthday and I was his plus 1 so I had to wear what he and the awesome stylist @alibstyle wanted me to wear #hissweater (if it were up to me I’d be wearing a plain black dress!). Also, thank you @juliannekaye for the glam.”
The Fab Five grooming expert commented, “Thank god we did Queen. Your lewk is the talk [sic] to the town!!”
