While we celebrate People magazine’s announcement of the Sexiest Man Alive (it is Patrick Dempsey, BTW), we mustn't forget that this special edition of the publication also features another award: Cutest Baby.
John Legend, 44, who was named Sexiest Man Alive back in 2019, has clearly passed on a few of his prize-winning qualities to his youngest child, 5-month-old Wren, who was just named People's Cutest Baby of 2023.
People's writeup read, “Those cheeks! That hair! John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s snuggly son Wren Stephens takes the infant crown of People's Cutest Baby in 2023’s Sexiest Man Alive issue.”
Legend and Teigen, 37, welcomed their youngest via surrogate in June 2023. The Voice coach announced the baby's arrival on Instagram and wrote, “Wren Alexander Stephens, our new love.”
Wren is the fifth child between Legend and Teigen, who are also parents to Luna Simone, 7, Miles Theodore, 5, and Esti Maxine, 9 months. In 2020, the couple were expecting a baby, named Jack, who they lost through a miscarriage.
The 5-month-old is joining other People's Cutest Baby title-holders, like Michael Phelps’s son Boomer, Andy Cohen’s son Benjamin and Anderson Cooper’s son Wyatt.
Since welcoming Wren, Legend has shared glimpses of his growing family on Instagram. Back in July, the “All of Me” singer posted a photo of Luna and Miles holding Esti and Wren in their laps. The best part? All four kids were matching in blue gingham ensembles that resembled Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz.
