Jennifer Lopez Finally Spills Deets on Ben Affleck's Bubble Bath Proposal: 'I Was Taken Totally Off Guard'

Just a few days after surprising fans with the news of her recent engagement, Jennifer Lopez is sharing intimate new details about Ben Affleck's romantic proposal.

The 52-year-old Marry Me star released an On The JLo newsletter for fans on April 12, and in it, Lopez revealed that the gesture made her emotional, rendering her speechless. According to Us Weekly, the note read, "Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed. I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time."

Referring to their first engagement back in 2002, Lopez continued, "[I was] trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again. I was quite literally speechless and he said, 'Is that a yes?' I said, 'YES of course that's a YES.'"

The JLo Beauty founder also revealed that while Affleck's proposal wasn't over the top, he popped the question in the "most romantic" way. She wrote, "I was smiling so big and tears were coming down my face, feeling so incredibly happy and whole. It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could've ever imagined...just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other. Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love."

Lopez also briefly commented on her massive green ring, which is quite similar to the first engagement ring that Affleck proposed with. She said, "Green has always been my lucky color and now, for sure, it always will be."

In case you missed the big announcement, on April 8, J.Lo posted a video on social media to confirm her engagement to the Deep Water star. The news came nearly 20 years after they first got engaged in November 2002, shortly after they met on the set of Gigli. But after two years, the pair called it off.

Fortunately, it looks like the happy couple are in it for the long haul this time. While speaking about their rekindled romance in February, she told People, “It's just that we're all in a very beautiful moment. I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him. It's a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.”
