Jennifer Garner has brought the most unlikely emoji to life for Halloween.
On Instagram, the Peppermint actress took a creative approach to advertising an anti-aging product. Along with a video clip, she wrote, "This Halloween, I dressed up as my favorite emoji: [grandma emojis]."
In the video, the 48-year-old actress is seen in full costume with fake wrinkles, round glasses and a white wig—but it doesn't end there. The brilliant look also features an oversized plaid shirt and cozy gray pants.
In the caption, Garner continued, "Luckily for me, @neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Oil reduces fine lines in a week—deep wrinkles in 4! (Believe it or not, this is a simulation, not real life.) The good news—Rapid Wrinkle Repair would still do the trick if it was! #happyhalloween."
For the Halloween-themed ad, Garner gives us a modern-day remake of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button by starting out with tons of fine lines and wrinkles on her skin (thanks to her talented makeup artist, Fiona Stiles). But right before she heads to bed, she uses a bit of Neutrogena's Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Oil ($23) on her face, repeating the process every day until her wrinkles are completely gone.
Followers were so impressed by her clever approach that they praised her in the comments. Kerry Washington wrote, "YOU ARE THE CUTEST!" Meanwhile, makeup artist Monika Blunder wrote, "I love this so much, so creative and purchasing this oil right now."
Stiles revealed what it was like to work with Garner to achieve the look. On Instagram, she wrote, "I’ve been making @jennifer.garner into various characters....a mime, a witch, a vampire, a mailbox, and this year she challenged me with the Grandma emoji. Now, I am not a special effects or character makeup artist, I’ve never done big transformative Halloween makeup, which is why these days with Jen are so fun. She gets me to stretch and work waaaaaay out of my comfort zone. Thanks for letting me turn you into a nonagenarian."
