Most of us will never have an opportunity to wear the fabulous collections that walk down the runway at New York Fashion Week, but that doesn't mean we can't still get in on some of the stylish action. In fact, we went backstage with Dyson this season to learn exactly how to recreate some of the prettiest hairstyles from the runway, like this voluminous low chignon from the Brock Collection.

Here's a step-by-step guide to getting the model look right in your very own home, plus a video from the lead hairstylist, Peter Gray.

Step 1: Starting with damp hair, apply primer (Shu Uemura Wonder Worker) to prep your strands.

Step 2: Apply mousse (we suggest Shu Uemura Ample Angora) to the roots, combing out and down to disperse the product.

Step 3: Blow-dry in sections using a brush to guide the hair up and back, helping to create volume.

Step 4: Starting at the base of the neck, use a round brush and a hairdryer to gently curl your strands. Clip the curl into place as you work your way up to the rest of the hair.

Step 5: Gently remove the clips and apply a small amount of Shu Uemura Essence Absolute using your fingers.

Step 6: Gather your hair into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck.

Step 7: Wrap one section of hair around your fingers and pin into the ponytail. Continue wrapping each additional section over and around the first, building a loose chignon as you go. Finish with a bit of hairspray (to keep all your hard work in place) and there you have it.
