The ‘Love Is Blind’ Couples Explain How They Ended Up Looking for a Spouse on the Netflix Series

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

If you ever wondered how the heck did these people end up on this show while watching Love Is Blind, then you’re certainly not alone. Yesterday, Ellen DeGeneres asked the question that’s been on all of our minds when the three couples who are still together from the show visited her set.

As it turns out, Lauren and Cameron, Amber and Barnett and Damian and Giannina all had pretty standard answers when it came time to explain why they opted to date in pods instead of the real world.

Lauren explained, “I chose to do it because basically my dating life wasn’t going that well and I was like, well, let’s see what happens. And a year and a half later, here I am with this awesome man.” She and Cameron are still married and enjoying their time together.

Amber’s reasons for finding Love Is Blind are a little more interesting: “I honestly only chose to do it because I was out of work at the time and I was going stir crazy because I was on workman’s comp so I couldn’t leave. I couldn’t do anything,” she explained. “I was like, find love? This could be interesting—why not? And I ended up with a whole husband.”

As for Giannina, she felt her connection to the show was “cosmic.” (Of course.) She told DeGeneres, “I was at a bar with a group of girlfriends and I was telling them how there are no men for me in the city and at that moment I got a DM on Instagram and it was this person telling me, ‘Hey, you can fall in love and potentially get married.’ I was like, ‘This is the universe speaking to me.’” Although she and Damian didn’t ultimately tie the knot, they revealed that they’re still together on the Love Is Blind reunion.

Damian definitely had the most unexpected answer as to how he found the show. “They actually found me on Tinder,” he revealed. “I started chatting with this girl, hit it off, she was like ‘Add me on Instagram.’ We had a pretty good connection. Then she’s like, ‘I’m a casting producer.’ I’m like ‘Catfish.’ Now I’m here.”

So what’s next for the couples? Lauren and Cameron are planning another wedding reception so all their family and friends can be included. Damian and Giannina are solidifying some travel plans and enjoying living separately. Amber and Barnett recently moved into a new home together and have plans to expand their family in the future.

As for us, we’re just waiting for a new season of Love Is Blind to be announced. Ya hear that, Netflix?
