We hate to admit it, but one of our newest obsessions is the show Love Is Blind. There’s just something about the unrealistic, extreme drama of watching complete strangers date, get engaged and then marry (or not marry) one another in a matter of just five weeks. Oh, and the fact that Nick and Vanessa Lachey are the “hosts” is just an added bonus.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Netflix reality show, allow us to explain. The matchmaking special follows thirty men and women who are looking to find love. For ten days in a speed dating format, the men and women date one another in different "pods,” before ultimately getting engaged. However, throughout the dating process, they never see their partners.
Ultimately, six couples get engaged: Lauren and Cameron, Amber and Barnett, Kelly and Kenny, Jessica and Mark, Damian and Giannina (Gigi) and Carlton and Diamond (these two don’t make it past episode 4).
The rest of the series follows the couples for four weeks (after they finally come face-to-face) as they navigate their new lives leading up to their wedding. As you can imagine, not everyone makes it to the altar. In fact, from the very beginning, Netflix has teased a very distressed bride-to-be running away from her big day. Literally.
The first nine episodes are already available on the streaming service, with the final batch (featuring the couples walking down the aisle) being dropped this Thursday.
In the preview for the highly anticipated release, one bride can be seen running away from the venue and down a grass embankment before falling over in the mud in her wedding dress. And we think we know who it is.
First off, she’s clearly blonde, so that cancels out Lauren and Amber (and honestly Kelly). So, that leaves Jessica and Gigi. By the way the season is going it honestly could be either of them. Jessica has made it clear that she has trouble even touching her 24-year-old fiancé. So, we absolutely wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t go through with the wedding. But Damian’s family revealed at the end of the ninth episode that they don’t even want to meet Giannina, which may make getting married a tad difficult.
What it really all comes down to is the hairstyle. Yes, we’re paying attention to all the details here, people. In the preview, Jessica’s hair is styled in an updo while Gigi opts for long beachy waves. And if we take a closer look at the short clip of our mystery runaway, her hair is definitely down.
All signs point to Giannina. We guess we’ll just have to wait until Thursday to see if our prediction is correct.
