This Major ‘Game of Thrones’ Character Isn’t Returning in Season 8 and We’re Honestly Kinda Pissed

Some GoT characters we were thrilled to say goodbye to (looking at you, Ramsay Bolton), and others, meh, we were pretty indifferent about (Dickon who?). But now it looks like another Westerosi’s story may be over, and we’re blaming Bran.

Warning: Potential spoilers ahead.

Game of Thrones actress Ellie Kendrick recently revealed that she probably won’t be back as Meera Reed in season eight.

Speaking to Metro, Kendrick said that she still doesn’t know if her character will make an appearance in the final season—even though table readings began weeks ago.

When asked about Meera’s return, the actress responded, “Not as far as I know. I don’t know. It’s funny because I always get asked, ‘What’s going to happen? Are you in it?’ Genuinely, the truth is I don’t know.”

Hold. The. Door.

Meera spends all of seasons three through seven dragging Bran’s creepy ass around the North and losing her brother (and sweet Hodor) in the process. Then, when she finally reunites Bran with his home and siblings, she barely gets a thank-you. Which is why we totally don’t blame her for leaving Winterfell at the end of season seven (especially after Bran’s half-hearted goodbye), but we were kind of hoping that we would find out more about her at some point. Apparently not.

“I wait for the phone to ring and then I find out, but it hasn’t rung, so I don’t know. I’ll find out whether I am or not at some point, but for now I haven’t been notified, so I’m yet to discover,” said Kendrick.

Honestly, you save the Three-Eyed Raven and then you don’t even get a phone call? Not cool.
