This British Family’s Parody of ‘One Day More’ from ‘Les Mis’ Is Just the Thing We Needed to Brighten Our Week

Broadway may be on hiatus until we get to the other side of COVID-19, but that didn’t stop a UK-based family of six from gathering their kids to perform a parody of the classic Les Miserables number, “One Day More.”

This family from Kent wrote their own lyrics to the tune, but based them on their virus-related hardships. Cancelled soccer matches, grandparents who can’t figure out how to video chat—these are just a few of the playful grievances outlined in the song.

Still, the highlight comes via evidence of what is a common parental plight: getting your kids to stop squabbling with their siblings long enough to focus on the fun. In fact, at the outset of the tune, bickering takes place until dad Ben Marsh shuts it down and gets his brood to belt it out.

And that’s when the magic happens. These kids—not to mention, mom and dad—are truly a talented bunch. The video has received almost 9 million views since they shared it on Facebook on Sunday.

Definitely a much-needed dose of positivity. Also, proof that the show *must* go on.
