Chrissy Teigen Vows to Pay $100,000 Fine in Support of Gymnast McKayla Maroney

Chrissy Teigen is showing her support of U.S. Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney in an inspiring and important way.

When the Cravings author learned that Maroney is liable for up to $100,000 in fines if she speaks out against her abuser, disgraced doctor Larry Nassar, at his sentencing trial, Teigen immediately stepped up.

The Lip Sync Battle host tweeted a headline explaining Maroney’s plight and wrote she’d “be honored to pay this fine” in order for Maroney to violate her nondisclosure agreement with USA Gymnastics.

Maroney retired from gymnastics at the age of 20 and received a $1.25 million settlement from USA Gymnastics in 2016 for Nassar’s misconduct. This settlement included an NDA with a $100,000 penalty if she ever spoke about the abuse she endured.

Bless, Chrissy Teigen. Bless.
