Chris Evans Honors 6-Year-Old Hero by Sending Him an Authentic Captain America Shield

Marvel superhero Captain America (aka Chris Evans) is honoring a real-life mini hero.

After hearing the incredible story of how young Bridger Walker risked his life to save his younger sister from a dog attack, Evans sent a video message to the 6-year-old praising him for his act of bravery. Lucky for us, Bridger’s aunt, Nikki Walker (who was the first to share Bridger’s story), posted an adorable clip of her nephew sporting the first Avenger’s costume, watching the video from Evans.

"I'm sure you've heard a lot of this over the last couple days, but let me be the next to tell you—pal, you're a hero,” Evans says in the clip. “What you did was so brave, so selfless, your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother.”

The 39-year-old actor also promised to send Bridger an “authentic Captain Americ shield.” "Keep being the man you are, we need people like you," he continued. "Hang in there, I know recovery might be tough, but based on what I've seen, I don't think there's much that can slow you down.” By the look on Bridger’s face, we’d say he was happy.

Evans wasn’t the only one who praised the boy for his heroic actions. Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk) and Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) also sent sweet messages to Bridger.

"People who put the well beings of others in front of themselves are the most heroic and thoughtful people I know. I truly respect and admire your courage and your heart," Ruffalo commented on one of Walker’s posts. "People or fighting against people or walking around like a tough guy. Real courage is knowing what is right to do and doing it even when it might end up hurting you somehow. You are more of a man than many, many I have seen or known.”

It looks like we have a new Avenger in the making.
