After just two months on the air, CBS has made it official—Watson is coming back for season two. The Morris Chestnut-led series, which can be described as a detective medical drama, was renewed on March 26.

The exciting news was shared in a fun social media announcement across CBS, Watson’s official Instagram, and Chestnut himself. In one playful video, Chestnut appears on screen with “Watson Season 1” superimposed on him before stepping aside to reveal a second version of himself labeled “Watson Season 2.” The caption read, “Two Watsons are better than one—#WatsonCBS has officially been picked up for Season 2.”

In another clip, Chestnut personally thanked fans for their support, giving a special shoutout to the cast, crew, writers, and studio for working hard to “bring you the best entertainment possible.” He also teased what’s to come, promising a bigger, stronger and even more entertaining second season.

Fans wasted no time celebrating in the comments, dropping fire emojis and sharing their excitement. “This show is really, really good and addictive,” one person wrote. Another added, “I already got my popcorn ready for Watson season 2.”

For those who haven’t tuned in yet, Watson puts a fresh spin on Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic character, Dr. John Watson. Played by Chestnut, the series picks up one year after Sherlock Holmes' supposed death at the hands of Moriarty. Now in Pittsburgh, Watson has opened the “Holmes Clinic” to treat patients with mysterious, unexplainable conditions. But just as he’s settling into this new chapter, shocking evidence suggests Moriarty may still be alive—forcing Watson to confront his past once again.

Season two can’t come soon enough!
