Those are some strong genes

I've seen Catherine Zeta-Jones pay tribute to several family members and loved ones, from her husband, Michael Douglas, to her son, Dylan. Most recently, the Chicago actress turned the spotlight on her mother, Patricia, in honor of her birthday.

On April 2, Zeta-Jones took to Instagram and shared a carousel of throwback photos of Patricia, including snaps with her husband and two kids, Dylan (24) and Carys (21). She captioned the post, "Happy Birthday Mam. We love you, today and every day."

The slideshow begins with a fabulous snap of the mother-daughter duo walking together in stylish outfits, but it's the second slide that made me do a double take, because Zeta-Jones's mom is the spitting image of her daughter.

In the comments, one fan wrote, "Your beautiful mother looks so much like you. Have a wonderful day with her." Another said, "Wishing the greatest birthday ever to your stunning (and always stylish) Mam Patricia: you truly get your beauty, grace and charm from your utterly glamorous mother, Catherine."

The pic is followed up with throwbacks of Patricia and her two grandchildren—but this isn't the first time Zeta-Jones has shared a special tribute to her mom on IG. The mother of two also honored Patricia for Mother's Day in the U.K., which fell on March 30th. With another gorgeous collection of mother-daughter pics, the actress wrote, "Happy British Mother’s Day Mam. You are my Queen and the wind beneath my wings. I love you with all my heart."

The Wednesday star included snaps from her childhood, a pic from her wedding day and more recent mother-daughter selfies.

In 2021, Zeta-Jones spoke with The Sydney Morning Herald about her family visits, and noted her tight-knit bond with her mom. She said, "I'm always back in the U.K. but I don't go to London—I go straight to Wales to see family. I'm a very homebody kind of person. My friends call me Cath. I speak with my mam every day, sometimes three times a day."

She continued, "It's essential for me to have the two sides of the world. I have friends who knew me before I became known internationally, people who have been with me the whole journey. It takes those people to keep you grounded."
