Who said polka dots are over? Not Ariana Grande, who made a stunning appearance at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.
For the ceremony, the Wicked star was styled by Law Roach and donned four different outfit changes that included a custom strapless gown from Fendi, proving that polka dots are, indeed, here to stay for fall.
Per People, the dress was inspired by a similar Fendi dress worn by designer Silvia Venturini Fendi in the 1980s, and featured a peplum design that extended into a flared skirt with a thigh-high slit. Wearing her hair in a pulled-back style and keeping her accessories minimal, she paired the dress with satin black peep-toe platform sandals.
Throughout the evening, the 32-year-old was also seen wearing a black sequin V-neck gown from Tamara Ralph, a black and white strapless ball gown from Steve O Smith and a white tutu-inspired dress by Givenchy, which she paired with white pointed-toe pumps from Gianvito Rossi. Grande has been relatively quiet since the November 2024 release of Wicked, which was a smash hit at the box office. With the sequel scheduled to hit theaters this November, the singer is slowly making her return to the public. In December 2024, she spoke with Variety about her future career plans, telling the publication, “I think the next few years, hopefully we’ll be exploring different forms of art, and I think acting is feeling like home right now.
She continued, “I’m so grateful for the ways in which we’ve grown together over this whole journey with Wicked. But music will always be a part of my life.”
2026 will see the singer breaking her tour hiatus, as she is set to embark on The Eternal Sunshine Tour in June 2026.
