The ‘And Just Like That’ Season 3 Trailer Just Dropped—and This One Detail Has Me Spiraling

I can't be the only one

The And Just Like That season three trailer is officially here. Max dropped the teaser on Wednesday, April 16, giving us a first look at what’s to come—and from the looks of it, we’re in for a good one. The core trio—Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon)—are all back and living their fabulously complicated lives in New York City.

The trailer wastes no time diving into Carrie’s relationship with Aidan (John Corbett). As a quick refresher, season two ended with Aidan stepping back from the relationship to move to Virginia and focus on raising his kids. The plan? Reconnect in five years, once his youngest is grown.

In the trailer, we see the two making an effort to keep the spark alive—Aidan even sends Carrie a postcard and pops up in New York. In a very Aidan move, he tries to channel old-school romance by throwing a stone at Carrie’s window…but ends up shattering the glass and scaring the life out of her. Oops.

Elsewhere, Charlotte and her husband Harry (Evan Handler) are in full parenting mode with daughters Lily (Cathy Ang) and Rose (Alexa Swinton), while Miranda continues to explore her queer identity.

But here’s the thing I couldn’t stop noticing: still no Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall). As you probably remember, Cattrall made a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in the season two finale—a phone call from London where she tells Carrie she won’t make her “Last Supper” party. A moment, yes, but definitely not a full return.

And while I’ll admit I was maybe a little delusional (let’s go with optimistic) in hoping for more Samantha this season, I can’t say I’m shocked she’s sitting this one out. She already shut it down herself, replying to a post on X that suggested a bigger return.

“Aw that’s so kind but I’m not,” she wrote.

Still, even without Samantha—and yes, even without Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), who won’t be in season three—I’m surprisingly hyped for what’s next. There’s something about the vibe of this trailer that feels a little more in line with the Sex and the City OG era and I’m absolutely here for it.

And as a bonus we’re getting some fresh faces this season, including Mehcad Brooks, Jonathan Cake, Logan Marshall-Green and Rosie O’Donnell in recurring roles.

Season 3 of And Just Like That premieres May 29 on Max.
