Amy Schumer’s Husband Is Teaching Her to Cook on TV, So Grab Your Wine Glass

Starting May 11, we're all going to learn to a little bit more about pandemic cooking—and probably Amy Schumer’s lady parts—when the frank-talking comic joins her chef husband in the quarantine-cooking-comedy series, Amy Schumer Learns to Cook

Sure, you’ll learn how to create the perfect poached eggs in episode one, or to fry great tempura-battered fish tacos, later in the eight-episode run, thanks to Schumer's husband, James Beard-award-winning chef Chris Fischer. But you’ll also get a fly-on-the-wall view of Schumer and Fischer in their day-to-day of self-quarantining at home. (Oh, and there’s also the couple's 11-month old tot Gene and cute black pooch Tati, as well as the live-in nanny Jane, who holds the camera for some of the two-shots.)

As always, when Schumer is in front of the camera (watch the teaser here), we can all expect the unexpected. Like how in the first episode, Schumer casually shows us how to mix an Old-Fashioned cocktail while Fischer makes breakfast (whisky with eggs, why not?). Or the celebrity guests who will pop up for a surprise video chats. Or how Schumer spits out food, projectile-style and bites into a bunch of fennel like it was celery. And sometimes, the episodes go smoothly, like the couple’s “quarantine movie night” with potatoes, lamb sliders and a Greek salad dip.

"Chris makes incredibly delicious food and Amy’s sharp wit delivers laugh out loud moments all the way through," according to Food Network president Courtney White, who sees the show, which premieres on May 11 at 10 p.m., as a collection of "poignant moments of a family sharing their challenges during this pandemic...a series that many will relate to and some will likely become addicted to.”

Stars, they're just like us, right? Especially when we just can't wait ’til noon to hit the bourbon.
