It’s not every day Alicia Keys gives us a glimpse into her teenage years, so, when she does, we pay close attention.
On Thursday, the 39-year-old actress shared a rare throwback photograph of herself on her personal Instagram account. In the pic, we see Keys laying on a bed while holding a telephone up to her ear. “Hello? Can I speak – to Michael?” she captioned the post. If you didn’t know, the caption is in reference to her hit song “You Don’t My Name” which includes a spoken interlude.
And while we don’t know exactly when or where the pic was taken, considering the phone is a landline with an attached cord (remember those?!), we’d probably guess sometime in the '80s or '90s.
In the snap, the “If I Ain’t Got You” singer is rocking an all-denim ensemble (and we’re getting major Katie Holmes vibes). Keys can be seen wearing a black button-up shirt, a pair of jeans and a matching denim jacket. She topped off the look with a sleek bun and a pair of gold hoop earrings.
And while we love the nostalgia that the photograph brings, we couldn’t help but notice that Keys really hasn’t aged a bit. (Suddenly, we wish we started our skincare routine way earlier.)
Fans and followers immediately flooded the comments section with words of praise. “Love this picture..so cute,” one follower wrote, while another added, “Wow so so beautiful.”
