We tried the Nespresso VertuoPlus and gave it a close-to-perfect 97/100 score in its PureWow 100 review, where we praised this single-serve coffee machine for its ability to deliver more flavorful brews than other machines (cough, cough Keurig). The pop-in and push-a-button functionality lets users choose among five cup sizes in the VertuoLine: Alto (about 14 ounces), Mug (nearly 8 ounces), Gran Lungo (5 ounces), Double Espresso (2.7 ounces) and Espresso (just over an ounce). From dark and strong to mild and smooth, there are also over 30 coffee pod blends to choose from.
And the machine even has an answer for consumers who have avoided single-use coffee machines due to environmental concerns over discarded plastic pods. Its aluminum pods are recyclable, and each order of pods comes with its own pre-paid envelopes to send them directly back to Nespresso. The pods are recycled into anything from pens to bicycles, and the grounds are used to make compost.
