What you need: Fresh sage leaves, plus a variety of other herbs (rosemary, lavender, thyme), cotton twine and matches.
What you do: Make a small bouquet of herbs, then wrap them tightly together with the twine. Hang your bundle and let it dry for two to three weeks. When it's completely dry, use a match to light the herbs at the end, then blow the whole thing out so it starts to smolder. Place in a heat-proof glass dish and take a whiff.
