Dr. Brem’s research and clinical interests include minimally invasive breast biopsy and new technologies for the early detection of breast cancer. Specifically, Dr. Brem helped develop new technologies for detecting early breast cancers. These include computer-aided detection (CAD), automated breast ultrasound systems (ABUS), molecular imaging of the breast and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In 2004, Brem founded the Brem Foundation to Defeat Breast Cancer, to support research, education and clinical care. She is an advisor to BeSound, an innovative breast imaging platform launching in Los Angeles in Winter 2026.
