We’re Adding These Refreshing Probiotic Drinks to Our Routine ASAP—Here’s Why

Chances are you’re already (at least a little bit) familiar with probiotics. You know, those tiny micro-organisms that can help aid in digestion? But even if you’ve heard of ‘em, it probably seems like a hassle to keep track of another new thing you should add to your diet. (And there’s really only so much yogurt one can eat.)

That’s why when we discovered we could get our probiotics from an easy and refreshing drink, we had to pass along the news. It’s called KeVita, a line of probiotic beverages—including kombucha—that contains carefully crafted blends of fermented cultures and billions of live probiotics. Which means, considering we haven’t passed up a chance to indulge yet this holiday season, we’re adding it to our wellness routine ASAP.

OK, refresh my memory. What’s the deal with probiotics again?

A whopping 70 percent of your immune system is in your gut. Probiotics are a beneficial bacteria that supplement your body’s natural gut flora by aiding in the breakdown of non-digestible components of your diet to produce the ones that can be converted into energy. Basically, probiotics help give an advantage to the good bacteria over the bad bacteria. And yep, they’re generally found in fermented foods like yogurt and kombucha.

And what’s different about these drinks?

Real talk: The large variety of KeVita products means there’s one bound to fit seamlessly into your day to day. And that’s exactly what founder Chakra Earthsong had in mind. As a certified nutritionist, Chakra focused on creating a new, innovative approach to wellness that prioritizes nutrition and hydration. She began experimenting with home fermentation by culturing water kefir and in turn, the KeVita Lemon Ginger Sparkling Probotic Drink was born. This light, low-calorie sparkling drink is seriously refreshing and has now expanded to eight flavors like Ginger Colada and Strawberry Acai Coconut. It contains billions (with a “b”) of live probiotics and pairs well with any meal. We’re already planning on packing them on our next outdoor adventure, whether that means après ski in winter or picnicking in summer.

Are there any other options?

There sure are. Look no further than the Master Brew Kombucha, an invigorating, bold drink fermented with a kombucha tea culture. It has live probiotics, organic acids, is verified non-alcoholic and comes in 13 different flavors like Pineapple Peach and Blueberry Basil. Plus, it contains 70 milligrams of organic caffeine for a little energy boost. For a tangier flavor, the KeVita Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic is a low-calorie choice fermented with water kefir culture. It contains both apple cider vinegar and billions of live probiotics and comes in four flavors. And if you want something even more intense, the concentrated Prebiotic Shots contain 3 grams of prebiotic fiber per bottle to support digestive health.

If that all sounds good (and we def think it does), here’s the kicker: KeVita drinks are certified organic, non-GMO, gluten-free and vegan and are made with delicious ingredients. Ready to try it for yourself? Find out where you can buy KeVita at a store near you right here.
