How to Decorate Holiday Cookies with a Toddler

Sugary fun for everyone

As much as you’d like to create picture-perfect holiday cookies that impress friends and family, what’s really important is that they bring some joy. And what could be more joyous than a kid with a cookie? A super-simple two-ingredient frosting and big round sprinkles make decorating sugary Christmas trees fun and easy for even the littlest of helpers.

Step 1: Roll out your favorite sugar cookie recipe.

Step 2: Cut the dough into fun shapes. (We love evergreen trees.)

Step 3: Feed your kiddo while the cookies bake.

Step 4: Mix a bowl of confectioners’ sugar with a few tablespoons of milk, adding liquid until it becomes the consistency of icing.

Step 5: Use giant sprinkles and colored sugar to decorate the cookies.
