There are few things that make me feel healthier than munching on dried fruits and vegetables, but these store-bought snacks often come with a hefty price tag. Luckily, you can now make your own at home.

On the latest episode of Take My Money, PureWow creator Kate Kesselman tried the viral Excalibur Electric Food Dehydrator, which retails for $160 at Amazon. The product looks like a mini refrigerator, and it has multiple trays that are specifically designed to dry fruits and veggies (plus flowers, too!).

“This is supposedly America's best dehydrator,” Kate said in the episode (see above). “Let’s see if it actually works. We’re going to use apples, oranges, kale, jalapeno, flowers and more.”

She continued, “I’m excited to see if this will complete my dream of having dried fruit every day. I just love it as a snack. I love it in my bathtub. I love it in my perfume.”

Kate proceeded to explain how it works, adding, “To use this dehydrator, all you need to do is grab your fruit and vegetables and cut them into thin slices. This will help make it super crisp.”

The machine has multiple pre-set buttons that you can select to get the perfect dehydration. (Side note: It’s a slow process that can take 10+ hours.)

So, does the Excalibur Electric Food Dehydrator live up to expectations? Watch the episode above to hear Kate’s full review and keep scrolling for product details.
