Three words: Korean fried chicken. Topped with scallions and garlic, these double-fried babies are sweet, juicy, crispy and definitely worth a deviation from the traditional Southern-style bird.

9. Mignonette Uptown

Fried chicken French toast. Need we say more? At Mignonette, crispy chicken tenders are stuffed inside a long brioche roll and drizzled with sweet syrup. It’s as massive as it is delicious.

4. Federal DONUTS

At this cult-favorite Philly export, two of our favorite things come together at last: fried chicken and doughnuts. When (not if) you go, get an order with the za’atar dry rub and an allspice-scented doughnut. You’ll thank us later.

3. Yardbird

We admit that fried chicken doesn’t exactly scream “beach fare.” But no one told Yardbird, which serves up some of Miami’s best comfort food right here on South Beach. We suggest a plate of the “chicken ’n’ watermelon ’n’ waffles,” which comes with honey hot sauce, bourbon maple syrup and a cheddar waffle.
