Sneaker collaborations are nothing new when it comes to athletes, rappers and high-end designers. But K-Swiss, on the other hand, is all about teaming up with a feel-good entrepreneur whose advice is universale. Yup, starting today, fans of the businessman and social media phenomenon Gary Vaynerchuk (perhaps better known by his social media moniker, @garyvee) can pick up a pair of limited-edition sneakers designed by Vaynerchuk himself.
With over two million subscribers on YouTube (and a casual seven million followers on IG), we’re willing to bet there’s at least a few guys in your life who would love to own a pair of sneakers with the Gary Vee touch. And seeing as they cost just $110 and are intended as a unisex style, you might want to throw in a pair for yourself, too.
The GV005 style is based on K-Swiss’s "Classic VN" style, but comes with a few new special touches, all inspired by the number five. Our favorite detail? The attention-grabbing molded V (as in the Roman numeral five and also, obviously, for Vaynerchuk) overlay at the heel that offers a bold pop of cobalt to match the blue accents at the shoe’s collar. These kicks also feature Vaynerchuk’s signature on the outer heel and a hang-tag that’s a nod to his childhood love of collecting and trading baseball cards.
A previous iteration of these sneakers, featuring a black sole with pink trim, debuted at ComplexCon earlier this month, and then promptly sold out. So, if you’re hoping to gift someone (yourself included) with a pair of the blue version, you might want to move fast.
