The 12 Best Celebrity Wedding Dresses of 2015
Please pause to swoon
The year 2015 will forever be known as the year our heart broke over a gut-wrenching split-up (Affleck and Garner, we miss you). But there were some real moments to rejoice sprinkled in there, too. Celebrity weddings! More specifically: celebrity wedding gowns! Here are a handful of the best ones we had the privilege to see. (Still waiting on you, Aniston…)
1.
Allison Williams
Call it the Kate Middleton effect: Long sleeves ruled bridal-gown trends this year. Here’s the Girls actress in Oscar de la Renta.
2.
Vanessa Williams
The actress/singer opted for a simple skirt-and-top combo for the ceremony, then for the reception slipped into an organza gown embellished with metallic leather petals.
3.
Sophie Hunter
Wear couture Valentino and marry Benedict Cumberbatch. OK, Sophie, you win 2015.
4.
Desiree Hartsock
A Bachelorette no more, Des stunned in a one-shoulder number with a mesh back of her own design.
5.
Tina Knowles
The matriarch of American royalty shut it down in the wedding photo heard ‘round the world.
6.
Sofia Vergara
What 11 pounds of sequins looks like. We’d expect nothing less.
7.
Bridget Moynahan
From Blue Bloods to a Long Island vineyard. Moynahan's wedding was kept under wraps right up until guests arrived (they thought it was a “harvest moon party”). Also under wraps: The bride’s custom J. Mendel silk gown, topped with a sweet little stole.
8.
Nikki Reed
Illusion lace and an open-back design comprised the Twilight actress’s boho-chic gown.
9.
Mila Kunis
The actress (notoriously private about her July 5 ceremony) gave us the teeniest glimpse of her gown on Facebook (accompanied by a sweet ode to hubby Ashton).
10.
Geri Halliwell
Drama alert: The artist formerly known as Ginger donned a traditional gown by Phillipa Lepley for her church wedding. (We do spy a flash of gold platform spike heels, though, lest you think she’s lost her spice.)
11.
Riley Keough
Not to be outdone on the sleeves front, Elvis Presley’s granddaughter chose vintage-inspired lace for her nuptials. Further confirming her coolness: Dakota Johnson was a bridesmaid, Kristen Stewart read a poem and guests Cara Delevingne and Zoë Kravitz looked on. Bridal-party squad goals.
12.
Jennie Garth
And when a bouquet of real roses just doesn’t say “rustic romance” the way you want it to…follow the former 90210 star's lead.
