Hallelujah! The Laziest Hairstyle Ever Is Currently Trending

fancy hair barettes are trending

It’s already been three days since you decided to treat yo’self and get a blowout for no special reason. So you really should’ve gotten up in time to shower and wash your strands this morning, but instead, you hit snooze three times once more and let yourself sleep in. Now you’re rushing to get ready for the day and instead of looking like a glamorously undone L.A. beach goddess, you actually look a little more like Raggedy Ann. Not so glam after all.

But we have a super-simple (and super-lazy) solution that you likely already have in your vanity (or at least can pick up at CVS on your way to the office). Perhaps the easiest way to jazz up your hairdo, whether three-days old or freshly done, is with a fancy barrette. Oh, and did we mention they’re one of the top trends for spring 2019? How convenient.

These are not the pastel-hued plastic heart and star shaped barrettes you rocked in kindergarten. Instead they’re luxurious, chic and all grown-up. Think more along the lines of embossed pearls, cheeky crystal words and abstract mixed metal shapes (alright, and maybe a few hearts and stars, as well).

All you have to do is run a brush through your strands, pin back a couple pieces that are giving you trouble with a distracting clip, and suddenly your hair looks fabulously chic (regardless of where you are in your wash cycle). You can even stack a few on at once for a street-style-star-approved ’do that’s as easy to pull off as it is to, well, do.

Get the look: ASOS ($7); DesignB ($7); Sincerely Jules by Scünci ($8 for set of two); Lou & Grey ($9); France Luxe ($22); Ann Taylor ($20); Cara ($26); Kitsch x Justine Marjan ($29); Lelet ($158 for set of two); Epona Valley ($228)
