After welcoming all three of her children after 40, the great Geena Davis told Good Housekeeping, "I felt 100 percent that I would be such a better parent than I would have been even five years earlier and certainly 10 or 20 years earlier. I became a parent with exactly the right person, at exactly the right time."

While speaking with Allure, Connelly said, "I knew that we were going to be done after number three. That's enough for us."

Mendes welcomed her first daughter, Esmeralda, at 40 years old. And just two years later, Mendes and Ryan Gosling became proud parents to their second daughter, Amada. Since the star became a mother, she took a step back from her career to focus on her family—and she was inspired by her own mom.

She told Huffington Post, “My mom was able to be there for me at home until I was about 8 or 9 and those memories for me, that just formed who I was, those years with her.”

Shields was 40 when she had their second child, Grier, in 2006. But before welcoming her daughter, the actress and model went through several cycles of IVF before having her first child, Rowan, in 2003.

In her book, Down Came The Rain, she wrote, "The whole process was quite an ordeal, and we became slaves to the time of day and to little vials of liquid." Thankfully, the effort paid off.

At 41 years old, the actress welcomed her second child, Elizabella, with her husband David Bugliari. The couple also share an 11-year old son named Milo. She told Access Hollywood, "I loved waiting a long time to be a mom. I'd had my ladies' lunches and my shopping days."

While opening up about how motherhood changed her, Milano told Insider, "It definitely made me more loving. It made me more outraged. It made me more concerned for our planet. It really has been a revelation to find the true essence of who I am."

Per Good Housekeeping, the actress actually preferred to have her children in her 40s. She said, "I'm sure there are younger people who have figured things out long before I did, but in my case, I became a parent with exactly the right person, at exactly the right time."
