Missing Nevermore Academy? Here Are 11 Shows Like 'Wednesday' to Hold You Over Until Season 2 Returns

She's creepy, she's kooky, mysterious and spooky...and she's been living rent-free in our minds since we finished the first season of Netflix's Wednesday.

Following that cliffhanger finale, we've been obsessing over the same three questions: Who is the mysterious stalker? What are they planning? And what is Hyde's next move? Naturally, we combed through countless fan theories and looked up all the details for season two. But until we can officially return to Nevermore Academy, we're keeping ourselves occupied with some of the best shows like Wednesday.

From The Addams Family to The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself, keep reading for 11 shows to add to your queue now.

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  • Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan
  • Seasons: 7

Looking for a throwback show with dark themes and a strong female lead? Allow us to introduce the baddest vampire slayer you'll ever meet. She's not quite as offbeat as Wednesday, but she knows how to stand her ground against the most terrifying monsters, and there's plenty of high school drama.

2. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

  • Cast: Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch, Lucy Davis, Chance Perdomo
  • Seasons: 4

Like Wednesday, this series revolves around a teenager with supernatural abilities, except in this case, Sabrina is a witch who leads a double life as a normal high school student who is battling evil forces. Gory scenes are aplenty, and fans of Wednesday will appreciate Sabrina’s alter ego, Sabrina Morningstar, who fully embraces her dark side as the queen of Hell.

3. Riverdale

  • Cast: KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse
  • Seasons: 6

You've likely already seen the comparisons between Wednesday and Riverdale on social media, since both are darker interpretations of the original stories and they include supernatural elements. Based on the Archie Comics, Riverdale follows a group of teenagers who work together to investigate a murder in their small hometown, and as they quickly discover, the town isn't as innocent as it seems.

4. I Am Not Okay With This

  • Cast: Sophia Lillis, Wyatt Oleff, Sofia Bryant, Kathleen Rose Perkins
  • Seasons: 1

This coming-of-age comedy centers on a 17-year-old named Sydney, who learns that she has telekinesis. On top of this, she has to deal with the ups and downs of high school, her budding sexuality and, like Wednesday, navigate a complicated relationship with her mother.

5. The Midnight Club

  • Cast: Iman Benson, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Annarah Cymone
  • Seasons: 1

Fans of Wednesday will appreciate the horror aspect of this series, but if you grew up watching Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark, then you're in for a special treat. The Midnight Club follows a group of terminally ill teens who form a group named—you guessed it—"the Midnight Club" while staying at a hospice. At midnight, they gather to tell each other scary stories that will legit keep you up at night.

6. The Addams Family

  • Cast: John Astin, Carolyn Jones, Jackie Coogan, Ken Weatherwax, Lisa Loring, Ted Cassidy
  • Seasons: 2

We can't forget about the original comedy series that inspired the films and the Netflix series. Wednesday fans can get a glimpse of the character's origins in the sitcom, where she owns a number of bizarre pets—like a lizard named Lucifer—and plays with headless dolls. Fans will also notice some parallels when it comes to her eccentric family and the show's macabre themes.

7. Charmed

  • Cast: Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock, Sarah Jeffery, Ser'Darius Blain
  • Seasons:

Part of what makes Wednesday so compelling is how it tackles magic and family dynamics, and the same can be said for Charmed. In this feminist reboot of the original, witch sisters Mel, Maggie and Macy work together as the "Power of Three" to fight against demons and dark forces. The show strikes a perfect balance between heavier themes and humor, and the performances are top-notch.

8. Half Bad: The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself

  • Cast: Jay Lycurgo Nadia Parkes Emilien Vekemans Isobel Jesper Jones
  • Seasons: 1

Meet Nathan. He's the son of the world's most dangerous Blood Witch and he's spent the last 16 years under the watchful eye of the Council of Fairborn Witches. But when he gets caught in the middle of warring clans, he embarks on a dangerous journey to discover his true identity and figure out his powers. Sadly, the show was canceled after just one season (*sigh*), but it's still worth the binge if you're looking for a good coming-of-age adventure.

9. The End Of The F***king World

  • Cast: Alex Lawther, Jessica Barden, Naomi Ackie
  • Seasons: 2

Based on Charles Forsman's comics of the same name, the black comedy follows James, a 17-year-old self-proclaimed psychopath who kills animals as a hobby. When he decides to kill a human, he settles for Alyssa, a troubled classmate who wants to escape her awful home life. But as they embark on a road trip together, they start to bond, making it more difficult for him to carry out his initial plan.

10. Daria

  • Voice Cast: Tracy Grandstaff, Wendy Hoopes, Julián Rebolledo, Marc Thompson
  • Seasons: 5

The show may not have magical elements, but if you love Wednesday's deadpan humor, you'll enjoy watching the cynical and sarcastic Daria Morgendorffer. She's a keen observer of her peers at Lawndale High School, and she keeps to the shadows with her best friend, Jane Lane. Best of all, there's plenty of spot-on pop culture commentary sprinkled throughout the series.

11. The Order

  • Cast: Jake Manley, Sarah Grey, Matt Frewer, Katharine Isabelle
  • Seasons: 2

College student Jack Morton joins a secret society called the Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose in order to learn magic. He soon learns that there are some dark secrets under wraps—including an intense battle between werewolves. While it doesn't include any viral dance scenes, it's got plenty of compelling characters and funny moments to keep you entertained.
