2023 Super Bowl Commercials: Sneak Peek at 10 of This Year’s Star-Studded Ads

Super Bowl Sunday is fast approaching, and we're not ashamed to say that we're just as excited for the commercials as we are for the football game.

Last year’s broadcast included an impressive variety of star-studded ads, from Lindsay Lohan’s unforgettable comeback to Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen's snack-filled reunion. So, it’s no surprise that this year’s lineup of Super Bowl commercials will also pack plenty of star power. This will include Will Ferrell, Melissa McCarthy, Alicia Silverstone and Bryan Cranston, just to name a few.  

In honor of Sunday’s big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, we compiled a list of the ten best Super Bowl commercials of 2023 (so far). Most of these videos are teasers for the full clips that will air during the Super Bowl, but we’ll take what we can get.

1. Alicia Silverstone’s Clueless return

Prepare for a dose of nostalgia, ’90s fans, because the actress has made her comeback as the iconic Cher Horowitz from Clueless. You’ll recognize the character’s famous yellow outfit and a few classic scenes, including the classroom debate.

2. Bryan Cranston & Aaron Paul’s Breaking Bad reunion

Breaking Bad fans, rejoice! Legendary duo Walter White and Jesse Pinkman are back with a hot new product on the market: Popcorners chips. The teaser features the iconic RV from the show, and Walter even repeats one of the most famous lines.

3. Melissa McCarthy’s vocal performance

Yep, you read that right. The funny lady shares her biggest travel dreams and shows off her singing chops. Plus, her husband, Ben Falcone, makes a surprise appearance.

4. Miles and Keleigh Teller's living room dance party

We never thought that waiting on hold for customer service could be fun—that is, until we saw Miles Teller and his wife’s new commercial. In the ad, the pair sip on Bud Light as they listen to hold music and bust out their silliest moves.

5. Serena Williams & Brian Cox’s friendly competition

The tennis legend goes head-to-head with the Emmy winner at the fictional golf course of Bushwood Country Club (a reference to the 1980 film, Caddyshack). The ad includes several cameos, like Alex Morgan, Jimmy Butler, Tony Romo, Nneka Ogwumike and Canelo Álvarez.

6. Sylvester Stallone’s Paramount mountain

Stallone and his daughters—Sophia, Scarlet and Sistine—are joined by a few beloved characters—including Captain Pike, Dora the Explorer and Beavis and Butt-Head—as they set up camp by Paramount Mountain. Things get interesting when Stallone attempts to climb to the top of the mountain, which has a striking resemblance to his own face.

7. Will Ferrell’s zombie encounter

In this short teaser, Ferrell is driving a shiny General Motors vehicle when he casually asks a zombie from Netflix’s Army of the Dead for some directions. As you can imagine, the exchange gets rather awkward…

8. Danny McBride's name change

Danny Downy McBride is unstoppable in this hilarious ad. The Righteous Gemstones star is so impressed by the brand’s lasting scent that he changes his name and roams the neighborhood with a T-shirt gun.

9. Sarah McLachlan’s “shelter” mix-up

The singer teams up with Busch Light to poke fun at her famous animal commercial (you know the one), which features her iconic song, "Angel." In the ad, a “Busch Guy” breaks down the basics of surviving outdoors. When he says “shelter,” McLachlan launches into a speech about animal advocacy. The man interrupts her and says, "Wrong shelter, Sarah.”
